«Astana» started in the second stage of the regular championship of the United VTB League, the first match was supposed to take place on February 9th, but the game against «Pari NN» did not happen due to the guests not arriving in the capital of Kazakhstan.

On Monday, the team lost to Saratov's «Avtodor» – 65:82.

The leaders of «Astana» in this match were Karvel Anderson (22 points) and Royce Hamm (16 points, 6 rebounds).

«I want to congratulate the entire team, all the coaching staff; we did a very good job: we fought and were focused throughout the game. I am happy with how we played: I said that we need to reduce the number of turnovers, but nevertheless, this is a big victory for us.

I want to add something else. Today is a sad day for all Serbian coaches – the funeral of my brother, one of my best friends, Dejan Milojevic. This victory belongs to him and his family,»
said «Avtodor's» head coach Milenko Bogicevic after the match.

The next game in the United VTB League for Oleg Kiselev's team will be held after the break for the All-Star Game and national teams' matches – on March 3rd against «Runa» in Moscow.
