Mikhail Lonshakov: «We continue our preparation for the National League»

Mikhail Lonshakov, the head coach of the Astana farm team, summarized the results of the training camp in Zlatibor, Serbia.

«The first two friendly games were the most challenging for us. The opponents were quite strong, and we only secured victories towards the end. In other matches, we played more confidently and achieved victories with confidence. This season, we've included young players born in 2006: Zakhar Medovskoy from Aktau and Bogdan Boyko from Almaty region. We've also gained experienced 'bigs' – Igor Kanygin and player-coach Valery Likhodey, who played for the main team last season.

As for the recent games, I won't single out anyone: someone performed better in one game, someone in another. It's too early to draw conclusions at the beginning of the season. The team safely returned to the capital, and we will continue to build connections and prepare for the National League of Kazakhstan.

I want to thank Samson Arakelyan and the SportQory Sports Support Fund for giving us the opportunity to travel to Serbia, the basketball mecca. There, we saw firsthand how players excelled at their skills, as there were many training camps around us. Additionally, not only basketball teams but also football and volleyball teams were in Zlatibor for their pre-season training. This indicates that quality preparation for the season can be conducted in this country.»
