We concede to the hosts in the 'Primatov Cup'

«Astana» continues its preparation for the upcoming season of the VTB United League.

Immediately after Media Day, Oleg Kiselev's team headed to Serbia for a training camp, where they played against such clubs as «Borac» (72:75), «Podgorica» (87:79), and «Spartak Subotica» (83:78).

Leaving Belgrade, the capital's basketball players headed to Samara, where the traditional preseason tournament, the 'Primatov Cup,' takes place. Besides «Astana» and «Samara,» «PARMA» from Perm and «Uralmash» from Yekaterinburg are also participating in the tournament.

In their first match, «Astana» faced the tournament hosts. Although the first quarter ended with a ten-point advantage for «Samara,» the Kazakh club managed to reduce the gap to just one point by the end of the third period. The game remained breathtaking until the last minutes, but in the final stretch of the match, the hosts were able to secure the victory.

For «Astana,» Carvel Anderson (17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), Devin Davis (10 points, 8 rebounds), and Markell Johnson (5 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists) stood out.

In another game, «PARMA» secured a victory over «Uralmash,» so now «Astana» will face the VTB United League newcomer – on Saturday, the teams will compete for third place.

It is worth noting that Rustam Murzagaliyev, Vadim Shcherbak, Roman Marchuk, Dmitry Gavrilov, and Ruslan Aitkali are currently with the Kazakhstan national team – the national team will participate in the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Instead of them, Alexander Orazbekov, Valery Simonov, and Igor Kanigin from «Astana Academy» have been called up to the main team.
