Basketball Club Astana has signed power forward Alexander Zhigulin for the 2025/26 season. The agreement is for one year.
Alexander is already well known to the team’s fans—he played for Astana for five seasons (2015–2020), competing both in the VTB United League and in domestic tournaments.
After that, he played in Russia’s Superleague for Ufimets, Samara, and Khimki, where he consistently delivered strong performances.
Over the past three seasons, Alexander played for Irbis-Alatau in the National League. In the 2023/24 season, he was one of the team’s leaders, averaging 13.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
Zhigulin is also a regular member of the Kazakhstan national team and has represented the country in international tournaments, including the World Cup and Asia Cup qualifying rounds.
