Astana introduces new point guard — E.J. Day

Born on June 4, 1999, in Norwalk, Connecticut (USA), the 180 cm (5’10”–5’11”) guard brings a wealth of international experience and proven scoring ability.

After graduating from college, E.J. Day launched his professional career in Europe, playing in: 

  • Cyprus for PAEEK, where he delivered outstanding performances — averaging 26.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game across 18 matches, with an average of 38.9 minutes on the court.

  • Latvia, with BK Ogre, where he made his mark in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, including a standout game with a career-high 8 assists.

  • France, in the Pro B division (second tier), playing for ALM Évreux Basket during the 2024/25 season. There, he maintained solid numbers: 14.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 25.2 minutes of play.

Day gained particular attention in France for his consistency — rarely dropping below 12 points and 4 assists per game. A defining performance came on 3 December 2024, when he led Évreux to a dramatic win over Pro B leaders Orléans, scoring 27 points, dishing 7 assists, and hitting the game-winner with just 0.7 seconds left.
