Astana wrapped up the group stage of the FIBA WASL West Asia League with an 89–99 loss to Syria’s Al Wahda at Nouhad Nawfal Sports Complex in Lebanon.
The game had a real end-of-season feel — competitive, physical, and played at a good pace. Astana made the early running and took a lead into halftime, but Al Wahda turned the game around after the break and pulled away with a strong second half. The quarter scores were 29–26 and 30–21 to Astana in the first two periods, before Al Wahda won the third 27–15 and the fourth 25–15 to seal it.

Al Wahda were driven by Falando Jones, who scored 30 points and was decisive down the stretch.
Astana had already secured a playoff spot before tip-off, so the focus now shifts to preparing for the next stage of the tournament.
