Astana and the Kazakh National University of Sport sign cooperation agreement

On 18 February, PBC Astana and the Kazakh National University of Sport signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, officially starting a new partnership between the club and the university.

The agreement sets out a shared commitment to growing basketball in Kazakhstan, supporting both social players and elite sport, and helping train future professionals in physical education and sports management.

The partnership will cover education, research and hands-on practice. The focus is on creating a strong, practical model of cooperation between a professional club and a specialised university — developing the talent pipeline, sharing expertise, and delivering joint initiatives.

By bringing together Astana’s real-world experience and the university’s academic strength, the memorandum aims to help prepare the next generation of athletes and sports specialists, while also strengthening Kazakhstan’s basketball system at home and internationally.
