Miodrag Rajković appointed Head Coach of Astana

Rajković brings more than three decades of coaching experience, having worked across Europe and Asia. Throughout his career, he has coached in Serbia, Poland, Hungary, Japan, Croatia and Montenegro, while also gaining extensive experience in the EuroLeague, EuroCup, VTB United League and ABA League.

His greatest success came in Poland, where he guided Turów Zgorzelec to the Polish League title in 2014. He also lifted the Polish SuperCup twice, in 2014 and 2024, and led his teams to both silver and bronze finishes in the Polish Championship. Following the 2012/13 season, Rajković was named Polish League Coach of the Year.

Over the course of his career, Rajković has coached a number of clubs, including Turów Zgorzelec, Śląsk Wrocław, Mega Basket, Yamagata Wyverns, Toyama Grouses, Nishinomiya Storks and several others. Most recently, he was in charge of Croatian side Split during the 2025/26 season, competing in the ABA League.

Rajković has also enjoyed success on the international stage. As a member of Serbia’s coaching staff, he won the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup, while his club teams have competed in the EuroLeague, EuroCup and the B.League playoffs in Japan.
